Food-Based Supplements – Nutrition The Way Nature Intended

With so many dietary supplement choices out there, how do you know which ones are right for you? Which product will make a positive difference in your life and in the lives of your family members?

Are you aware that 95% of Vitamin & Mineral supplements on the market today are Synthetic?
They are sourced from coal, tar and/or petroleum.

The Dangers of Synthetic Nutrients

Just like processed foods, these synthetically produced vitamins have been robbed of all of the extra accessory nutrients that they naturally come with as well. In turn, like processed foods, they can create numerous imbalances in your body over time. They can also act more like drugs in your body, manipulating natural processes in your body rather than enhancing optimal biological processes.  In addition, they are synthesized typically from petrochemicals – it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know 'that's not nature' and 'that can't be good for you'.  Indeed!  The last thing we need is additional toxic load on the body.

In addition, there is mounting emerging evidence about true dangers of synthetic supplementation…  there's been documented increases in heart disease, birth defects and studies which have been stopped because of evident risk to participants.

The Importance of Plant Sourced Nutrients

Phytonutrients, the chemicals that help plants defend against environmental challenges, such as damage from pests or ultraviolet light, appear to provide humans with support as well.

Food-based supplements are what their name suggests: Supplements made from concentrated whole foods – it's real food. The nutrients found within these supplements are not isolated. They are highly complex structures that combine a variety of enzymes, coenzymes, antioxidants, other micro-nutrients not to mention yet to be discovered factors all working together in synergy.

Nutrients cannot be separated or isolated from the whole, and then be expected to do the same job in the body as the whole complex is designed to do.

Food-based supplements are known to be safer, have higher absorption, cause no toxic burden, and are less likely to cause depletion of other nutrients and co-factors in the body.

The Basic Principles of Making the Best Choice

To make the best choice with your supplement regime, ensure:

  • The company has documented safety monitoring program in place
  • Where possible the supplements are standardised – allowing you to know what you're putting into your body
